Winter 2026 7/8 Basketball League Information Evaluation/Draft Date Wednesday, November 4th  Last Name begins with A-L: 6:00pm Last Name begins with M-Z: 7:00pm at T. Jeffers Center, 121 Hartman Street Mandatory Coaches Meeting Tuesday, November 17th at 6:45pm at Phillips Center, 2031 Echo Ln.  Coaches: Please consider being a volunteer coach this season. We are always looking for dedicated good coaches to help lead our teams. All coaches must go through a background check. Volunteer head coaches will receive a credit for the amount of the current season. [City of Gastonia] New Background Check PDF  Practice: Practices will begin after Thanksgiving. Practices will at least be twice a week until games begin. Practice days will be determined by the volunteer coach and the Athletic Supervisor. Practices can be held at Bradley, Phillips, T. Jeffers, Erwin or Southeast Center. Games: Games will be played at least twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays at T. Jeffers Center and Thursdays at Phillips Center. Days are subject to change based on the amount of teams. Games will begin on January 9th. Once games begin practices will be held to once a week, depending on availability of gym. Coach/Player Requests: We are not able to guarantee player and coach request. We will only be able to guarantee siblings in the same age division and members of a coach's immediate family, as long as the information is requested ahead of the evaluation date. Uniforms/Equipment: The uniform will consist of a shirt and shorts. It is recommended that players wear athletic shoes.
