About Camp
We will begin the session with identifying students’ strengths and needs and their individual learning styles. Additionally, students will be learning about the multiple intelligences. After the first week, students will design a personalized organizational system intended to help each student transition to life in middle school. We will use Google Docs to create to-do lists and build a calendar for use in the upcoming school year. Students will learn pre-learning, learning, reading, listening, memory and recall strategies, as well as note-taking and outlining techniques. We will also cover test-taking tips and strategies. In Study Skills, students will be taught the explicit skills required for success in middle school.
