Historical Storytelling: Grades 6-8

About Camp

History is overflowing with fascinating characters and unbelievable events, some famous but most overlooked! This course will allow students to pursue their interests and investigate a historical event or person of their choosing. Guided by primary and secondary sources, students will first create a thesis and then use evidence gleaned from their research to support a written argument. After completing the research, students will turn their findings into an incredible story using the format of their choice: graphic novel, YouTube video, and more! By the end of this two-week course, students will have honed their research, analytical, writing, communication and presentation skills all while exploring a historical topic of personal interest.
