About Camp
Lifeguard Academy Program:This Cigna Healthcare sponsored free program will train and certify participants in StarGuard lifeguard training, First Aid and CPR/AED.Prerequisites:· All candidates must be 15 to 17 years old· All candidates must pass a pre-skills test consisting of 300-yard continuous swim, tread water for 60 seconds without using hands, and retrieve a 10 pound brick from the deepest part of the poolSelection Process:· If a waitlist is formed and interest in this program exceeds the 5 available openings, the pool management team will conduct interviews as a selection process.· Interviews will be conducted at the pool on Saturday, June 11th at 1:30pm · Candidates must be available to attend all lifeguard certification dates to be considered· Candidates are expected to attend all classes at their home pool during the 5-week program.Certification Requirements:· Participants must attend and pass all mandatory lifeguard certification classes.· Participants must complete and pass the 8 hours of the StarGuard On-line Blended Learning portion prior to Saturday, July 30, 2022· Starguard Lifeguard certification class dates at Roosevelt Pool· Saturday, July 30, Sunday, July 31, Saturday, August 6 and Sunday, August 7th.· Class times: 9:00am-3:00pm
