About Camp

Which Sleep Animal Are You?Sleep is not one-size-fits-all. Each of us has a natural biological rhythm—known as a chronotype—that influences when we feel alert, when we feel sleepy, and when we do our best thinking. In this engaging, evidence-based session, gerontologist Sally Duplantier explores the four common chronotypes (also known as the Lion, Bear, Wolf, and Dolphin) and what they reveal about our daily energy patterns. We will also explore age-related changes in sleep and discuss the latest research on how to get a better night’s sleep as we get older.Sally Duplantier is a nationally recognized gerontologist and researcher focused on healthy aging. She was recently named by MSN as “one of the top 10 inspiring women to watch” for her role in disrupting the way we think about aging. Sally is a featured speaker for organizations like Stanford University and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine on topics related to health and well-being. Her research has been published in the peer-reviewed journals Nutrients and The International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.Sally has a certificate in nutrition science from Stanford and an MS in gerontology from the University of Southern California. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in public health at Indiana University.
