Mighty Mite Flag Football (Grades K–2) The Mighty Mite Sports Program is designed to introduce children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade to the game of flag football in a fun, positive, and supportive environment. The program emphasizes learning the fundamental skills and basic rules of the game while building confidence, teamwork, and a love for sports. This is a non-competitive program led by City of Azusa Recreation Staff. No scores or standings are kept, and there are no officials. The focus is on skill development, participation, sportsmanship, and having fun. Grade Eligibility Participants must be enrolled in Kindergarten through 2nd grade during the current school year. Registration Registration is open through September 10, 2026, or until the league reaches capacity, whichever comes first. Program Schedule Player Workshop September 15 & 16 from 5:30 PM - 6:30PMNorthside Park601 W. 11th St.Azusa, CA 91702 Season BeginsWeek of September 21 Season EndsPrior to Veterans Day Player Workshop The Player Workshop gives participants an opportunity to learn the basic skills of flag football through fun drills and activities led by Recreation Staff. At the conclusion of the second workshop session, players will: Meet their assigned coach. Receive their team uniform. Receive their practice and game schedule for the remainder of the season.  Receive information about Picture Day and the End of Season Banquet. Practices & Games Practice days and times are determined by each team's coach. Activities are typically held after 5:00 PM on weekdays or on Saturday mornings. Teams generally meet 2–3 times per week, including practices and games. Practice and game schedules vary based on coach availability. Communication After teams are formed, coaches will communicate schedules, updates, and reminders directly with their team. Parents should ensure their contact information is current during registration so they receive all program communications.
