About Camp

The Weekend of Restoration is going on the road for its 21st iteration and we're returning to the water, where the Weekend began in 2011 with the restoration of Turtle Marsh. This October we will restore a stream and plant oaks and native shrubs on the adjacent slopes at a Land Conservancy site west of the town of Alden. Our theme is Rivers and Streams, and we will experience how people have understood them in literature, science, and music. Rivers connect the mountains and the seas and hold a rich diversity of life all their own. They remind us of the passing of time and our mortality, and in their constancy, they are symbols of the ever-newness of existence. Come join us to build stream riffles, plant trees, sing songs, and discuss what streams mean to all of us. We will spend most of our time outdoors, so come dressed for the weather. Your registration fee includes lunch and supper on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday morning.Camping on site is free for this event only! Join us this weekend and make a difference! Visit our Facebook Page @MCCDWEOR. Location is at 9503 Wright Road in Harvard, IL.
