Weed Warriors

About This Camp & Activity

Join us for our Fall 2026 Weed Warriors classes! Baltimore City Weed Warriors program is an official park stewardship program that provides training and support for those interested in removing non-native invasive plants from local ecosystems. Volunteer stewards who complete their certification receive permission to work independently and/or lead events on Baltimore City Recreation & Parks properties. All are welcome to attend the classes to learn about non-native invasives and how to effectively manage them. In order to become certified at the Pathway 1 level, participants must take both the webinar and practical session, and participate in an official Weed Warriors event after completing at least one class. If you cannot attend both classes in the same season, you are welcome to make up classes at a later date; Weed Warriors training sessions are typically offered twice a year with sessions in the spring and fall. Stewards completing the new Pathway 1 series will learn to identify and remove the following species: Asiatic bittersweet, Japanese honeysuckle, porcelainberry, English ivy, and mile-a-minute.  This session will be held virtually through Microsoft Teams. A link to the virtual Teams meeting will be sent to those registered for the class prior to the class date. The link will also appear on the digital receipt you receive after registering.
