Ukulele RockersUkulele Rockers is a class for students who have completed Ukulele Roots or already have some experience with the ukulele. Rockers will build on the skills from their Roots class and learn some new skills and songs.READING:Understand and demonstrate ability to follow basic song form: (AB, verse, chorus, etc.)Identify all of the line and space note names on the Treble ClefRead and play notes from middle C – third space CUnderstand and play a simple chord chartRHYTHM:Demonstrate multiple strumming patterns (song-based) using both up and down strokesDemonstrate ability to play eighth and dotted-half rhythms and restsDemonstrate ability to play in different time signatures: 4/4, 3/4, 6/8CHORDS:Play chords: G, G7, Dm, A7, D7, B7, and EmSCALES/MELODY:Explore simple improvisationPlay multiple song melodiesPlay with C Major scale / A Natural Minor scale in open positionEAR TRAINING:Determine by listening if a note is above, below, or the same as another notePLAYING/TECHNIQUE:Play in different temposPlay using multiple chordsPlay in time with steady beat, alone and with othersDemonstrate ability to use up and down stokes with strum hand on chordsDemonstrate smooth transitions between chordsPlay with dynamicsStudents will perform in a concert with their class during Concert Week, December 5-10
