About Camp
In this two-week class, students will be introduced to strategies that will strengthen their reading comprehension skills. By exploring great works as well as personally selected literature, they will learn how to interact with, connect to, and reflect upon classical and contemporary texts. Effective readers are also insightful and critical thinkers. Some of the skills practiced in this course will include learning to annotate the texts, keeping and recording thoughts in a reading response journal, and participating in whole group and small group discussions. Hopefully, this will just be the beginning of a lifelong relationship with reading.
