Whether you live in rural Kane County or downtown Chicago, your dependence on a healthy ecosystem is the same. We depend on nature to do many things; purify our air, pollinate our crops so we don't go hungry, and cycle nutrients so we have access to clean drinking water. Join the Park District Naturalist Crew as we travel to three beautiful locations; Delnor Woods, Fearson Creek Fen and the Native Plant Propagation Area to learn more about the function of these ecosystems as well as current and future restoration projects the District has planned for our community. Learn facts about trees, native and invasive species, and the history behind these incredible natural areas. Leave with a better understanding of the positive health effects natural areas provide, and an appreciation for why ecological restoration helps to restore our future. Transportation included.
