This class will focus on making a beginning project, a baby afghan or scarf, but more advanced crocheters are invited to join us. We will start with practice squares to assemble in an afghan for Warm Up America, a project to make afghans for homeless people, foster children, women’s shelters, disabled veterans, children’s hospitals and hospice patients. In this class you will learn how to: (1) select appropriate supplies, (2) read instructions,(3) maintain tension for the appropriate gauge, and (4) do several stitches such as theslip stitch, chain stitch, the single crochet, the half-double crochet, the double crochet, and the triple crochet. You will also learn how to stitch increases and decreases to make a ripple pattern. If you are an advanced beginner, Kelly can offer advice and support for more sophisticated patterns. You can gain satisfaction and enjoyment merely bycreating a colorful item. Experience is not required; just come with enthusiasm to learn.Supplies Needed:ScissorsTapestry Needle (aka Yarn Needle) with eye big enough for yarnCrochet Hook(s)—If you buy only 1 hook, it should be an H or 5.0mm.
