About This Camp & Activity
Tue | McIntosh Goodrich Mansion | 6:00pm WCM's JAZZ LAB students participate in a small group combo held on Tuesday evenings from 6pm-7pm. During combo rehearsals, students will learn to improvise over jazz forms and play a variety of tunes with styles including Latin variations, swing and funk. Combo rehearsals also involve theory lessons, listening sessions, and jazz history lessons that relate to the music they are playing. Students will have performance opportunities to showcase all that they are learning: honing their performance techniques, individual expression, and strengthening the unique camaraderie of musical teamwork. WCM provides combos for middle school students, high school students, and adults. Prerequisite: two years' experience on individual's instrument, or the consent of the instructor.
