About Camp
Goose Rock near Deception Pass is the highest point on Whidbey Island. We’ll hike the 6.2 mile loop trail that Summits Goose Rock and goes along Cranberry Lake and the beaches of Deception Pass. This hike has 900ft. of elevation gain with some steep switchbacks leading up to the summit, so it’s a workout and not suitable for those with difficulty climbing or descending steep hills. At the Summit, you’ll take in panoramic views of the Olympic Mountains and San Juan Island. Bring a sack lunch to eat at the summit. Transportation and trip leader provided. Trip Rating: Moderate – Some hills, more rugged terrain with elevation gains up to 1000 ft.
