Registration availability in all leagues is limited based on number of staff/volunteers that are available and facility space. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. NOTE: Our spring mini league is formed by skills evaluations to players an opportunity to meet new friends and create better balanced teams! Keep your Mondays and Wednesdays open for some football! Join our fun, recreational 7v7 flag football league. Not only will each team focus on flag football fundamentals and technique, but they will also introduce a new Word of the Week to include life skill that youth sports provide. Our goal is to create better athletes, but more importantly, better people. Each team will have one practice a week on Mondays, and one game on Wednesdays at DeGarmo Park General youth sports jerseys are required and can be purchased at the CARD office at $17. Each team will have a 5-game guarentee (no end of season tournament) Teams will be based on grade and a skills evaluation (not by school) Genders will be combined for flag football. All teams will be formed by the discretion of CARD staff. Early Bird Registration Deadline: 3/9/23 ($71)Final Registration Deadline: 3/16/23 ($81)GENERAL INFORMATION: For more information on all CARD Youth Sports leagues, visit us at: www.chicorec.com/youth-sports-general-information Updates: Players will be emailed their team information (from an @chicorec.com address) by Friday 3/31/23 by 5PM. Practices: All teams will practice on Mondays at DeGarmo Park, 199 Leora Ct. Practice time slots will vary by division. Practices will run 4/3-5/8 (including practices still running on 4/10) Games: Game schedule will be posted at www.TeamSideline.com/chico by Friday 3/31/23 by 5PM. Games will tentaively be a 4p, 5p, 6p, or 7p from 4/12-5/10. Games cancelled due to rain or air quality, will be rescheduled for up to one week at the end of the season. All other game cancellations will be refunded. Uniforms: Players will be required to wear a CARD General Youth Sports jersey (available at the CARD office to purchase for $17), athletic clothing (preferably no red or yellow shorts/pants) and athletic shoes (non-metal cleats are optional) to all practices and games. Player must provide their own mouth guard for all practices and games. Coaches: Coaches in the 2nd- 5th grade leagues will be CARD volunteers. Specific field location will vary based on availability. Special Requests: One buddy request can be made during the registration process. Coach requests are not accepted. Please read the buddy request process closely to ensure it is valid. Team Formation: Teams will be based on grade and a skills evaluation (not by school) Grades will be combined if necessary (for example, 3rd/4th) Genders will be combined for flag football. All teams will be formed by the discretion of CARD staff. Skills Evaluations: CARD will contact participants for a mandatory skills evaluation. Skills evaluations will happen the week of March 27. Please note that skills evaluations may not happen on regular days of play (M/W), based on the number of evaluations needed! Weather: All changes to field conditions, and weather updates (rain, air quality, etc) will be made one hour before your scheduled practice or game at www.ChicoRec.com/fields. If necessary, games will be rescheduled up to one additional week.
