The Carolina Shag is a fun six count partner/couples dance done to moderate tempo music, such as contemporary, blues, jazz and most swing music. The shag is suited for most all ages and ideal for parties, weddings, proms, reunions, socials, and for your own dancing pleasure. A great way to meet new friends, socialize, and enjoy locally as a couple or as a single.Several/many opportunities locally to dance/socialize!Click the flowing link to view a clip of Carolina Shag Dancing: https://vimeo.com/355970735$50/per person; singles welcome.This is six weeks of basic shag to beyond beginner one hour classes. Minimum class is 10 students/maximum is around 16. Scheduled for Thursday evenings from 7 pm until 8 pm at the Brittingham Midtown Community Center in Newport News, Va. Instructors, Jerry and Lana Nichols, both are very experienced dancers and instructors, both are members of the Colonial Shag Club (CSC), Boogie On The Bay Shag Club, and the Virginia Shaggers Hall of Fame (VSHOF).
