About This Camp & Activity

This program is a collaboration between DPR and Durham Police Department geared for youth to learn how to safely ride their bikes. Stations will be set up and instructed by Durham Police Department personnel on basic bike maintenance, how to properly brake, overall bike safety while riding your bike and fitting your helmet and bike properly for use. Participants are asked to bring their own bike. If a child does not have a bike, a used reconditioned bike from Durham Bicycle Cooperative will be provided for the youth to borrow at the rodeo. Each participant will receive a free helmet from NCDOT Bicycle and Pedestrian Divisions’ Helmet Initiative Program. Participants should wear closed toed shoes and comfortable clothing. Registration is required and space is limited.
