This class is designed to review commands and increases the difficulty of exercises by extending the time and distance for each command. At each lesson you will be able to focus on your concerns, like housebreaking, chewing, barking and pulling on the leash, to name a few. This class will teach you how to effectively train your dog while getting your dog to merge into your schedule and lifestyle. People interested in obtaining their dog’s Canine Good Citizen Certification will be able to test at the end of the class. Bring soft treats, 6’ leash (no retractable/expandable leashes), and clean-up bags to each class. Please do not wear sandals without a back strap. On the first day of class please bring: your dog’s vaccination papers (need to see only, you can keep), completed registration form which will be e-mailed to you prior to class, and $10 materials fee paid directly to the instructor (covers equipment and documents provided throughout the six week program). All recommended training methods will use positive reinforcement techniques. Dog Training hand signals, voice command and a marker word will be used throughout the class along with the five basic rewards; touch, voice, loose leash, play, and treats. These programs are not appropriate for dogs which are reactive to people or other dogs.
