Taekwondo, one of the newest Olympic sports, is a 2,000-year-old martial art, offering a variety of benefits for people of all ages and physical abilities. Students have the opportunity to improve concentration, self-esteem, achieve lifelong physical fitness, and learn self-defense skills. Classes are taught under the direction of Grand Master Ki Hong Kim (9th Dan Kukkiwon World Taekwondo Headquarters). All students should talk to their instructor on the first day to get sized for a uniform which costs $50 cash or check. Uniforms are required to complete the class and to test for belt rank. Belt testing is offered through KH Kim Taekwondo, at an additional fee. Tests happen at the instructor's discretion when the student has learned the appropriate skills. All green belt students (Ages 7 yrs and up) are required to have complete sparring gear, which is purchased from the instructor.This program helps kids develop conditioning, coordination, listening skills, and self-confidence through creative activities. Here students learn the fundamental skills of Taekwondo.
