About Camp
Designed to teach swimming pool lifeguarding skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies.15 years of age or older, successfully complete eligibility swim test of 300 yards, tread water for 2 minutes using legs only and complete a submerged brick retrieval timed event in less than 1 minute, 40 seconds. Recreation Center Membership required. Note: Course requires participants to have access to internet for online component. The online component is approximately 7 hours outside of the scheduled class time.Certification Requirements: Attend and participate in all class sessions, successfully complete online portion, demonstrate competency in all required skills, activities and final skill scenarios and correctly answer at least 80% of the questions in each of the two sections of the finals written exam Certification: American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
