About Camp

Campers will work with trained personnel and receive instruction on paddling skills, rescue techniques, and wet exits in the comfort of the lake at James Island County Park. On Wednesday, campers will receive an introduction to beach safety, wave dynamics, and etiquette at the beach. On Thursday, we will use our newly acquired skills to catch some waves at a local break! Campers will also learn basics about fishing including the purposes behind the activity, biological processes, and conservation. Fledgling anglers will be taken to a local county fishing pier to get a taste of the saltwater action.
