Adventure Camp at Palmetto Islands - Sea Kayak/Fish

About Camp

Kayakers will learn the graceful operation and control of a sea kayak on the sparkling lake at James Island County Park. Trained camp personnel will provide instruction in proper paddling techniques, wet exits, and kayak rescues. After obtaining confidence and comfort on the lake, training will culminate in a day paddle in one of our beautiful Charleston-area waterways. Campers will also learn basics about fishing including the purposes behind the activity, biological processes, and conservation. Fledgling anglers will be taken to a local county fishing pier to get a taste of the saltwater action.
