Adventure Camp at Palmetto Islands - Sea Kayak/Archery

About Camp

Kayakers will learn the graceful operation and control of a sea kayak on the sparkling lake at James Island County Park. Trained camp personnel will provide instruction in proper paddling techniques, wet exits, and kayak rescues. After obtaining confidence and comfort on the lake, training will culminate in a day paddle in one of our beautiful Charleston-area waterways. Campers will also learn about the age-old tradition of competition archery. We'll develop the skills to shoot like Robin Hood (or Hawkeye). Through active participation, archers will learn terminology, technique, and additional characteristics and practices necessary for successful target shooting.
