About Camp

This course will introduce participants to the art of canoeing by practicing paddling techniques through fun games and instruction. Campers will learn about communication and cooperation in order to navigate their tandem canoes and will also practice rescue techniques. Lastly, a day trip to the beautiful tannin-rich blackwater of the Edisto River will put our skills to the test. Campers will get to be involved with CCPRC beach lifeguards, learning the basics of aquatic rescue and patrol. Lessons and activities include environmental awareness, first-aid, ocean proofing, physical training, rescue equipment, and teamwork.
