KCR is excited to offer adult nature enrichment programming this fall! The Bird Watching session is perfect for beginners who want to spark curiosity all the way to avid birders looking to grow and meet others with similar interests. Each week we will meet at a new location within a few miles of the Dakota Lodge located in the Ken-Caryl Valley and do a nature walk of less than a mile. Come learn and discuss a variety of topics including how to ID birds, how to use optics, the types of migratory and resident birds found in Ken Caryl, birding etiquette, and more! We look forward to having a special guest from Front Range Birding join our walks to provide their knowledge and expertise.Notes: Participants will follow local, state, and federal laws to ensure a welcoming environment for other park users and the wildlife. Expect to be active and moving for about an hour and up to a mile in distance. Please wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather in layers. Participants are encouraged to bring a small backpack and a water bottle. Optional gear includes binoculars (recommended but not required), a camera, field guide, field journal and pen. Shared field guides will be provided.Contact Tori Ippolito at victoriai@kcranch.org with questions or if interested in signing up past the online deadline. No credits/refunds will be issued after Sept. 7, 2022.
