ANTIOCH’S CHRISTMAS PARADE LIGHTS, CAMERA, CHRISTMAS!A Holiday Parade of Christmas Movie Favorites This year, Antioch is bringing the magic of the movies to Main Street! Community groups, businesses, families, schools, and organizations are invited to join us for a Christmas parade filled with the characters, stories, and scenes we all love from our favorite Christmas movies. Choose your favorite Christmas movie or character and bring it to life! Whether you create a float inspired by a classic holiday movie, dress as a beloved character, or transform your vehicle into a scene from a Christmas favorite, we want to see your creativity and Christmas spirit. Need some inspiration? Consider: The Grinch – Bring Whoville to life with the Grinch, Cindy Lou Who, Max, and plenty of Christmas decorations. Elf – Create Buddy’s North Pole world with elves, candy, Christmas trees, and colorful decorations. Home Alone – Recreate the McCallister house, Kevin’s hilarious traps, or the Wet Bandits. The Polar Express – Turn your float into a Christmas train complete with a conductor, passengers, and a journey to the North Pole. A Christmas Story – Bring Ralphie, the leg lamp, the pink bunny suit, or another memorable scene to life. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer – Rudolph, Hermey, Yukon Cornelius, the Island of Misfit Toys, and more! A Charlie Brown Christmas – Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Woodstock, and the little Christmas tree. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation – Clark Griswold, Cousin Eddie, the RV, and, of course, LOTS of Christmas lights. Frozen – Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and a winter wonderland. The Nightmare Before Christmas – Jack Skellington, Sally, and a spooky Christmas twist. A Christmas Carol – Scrooge, the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, and Victorian Christmas scenes. These are just a few ideas! Choose any Christmas movie or character that inspires you and make it your own. DUPLICATE MOVIE SELECTIONS We know some Christmas movies are favorites for a reason! Duplicate movie or character selections may be permitted, but we encourage participants to get creative and consider choosing from the many wonderful Christmas movies and characters available. When registering, please provide the Christmas movie or character you plan to feature in your parade entry. The Parks & Recreation Department will monitor selections and may contact participants if there are multiple entries featuring the same movie or character to encourage a variety of parade themes. Our goal is to create a fun and diverse parade while still allowing everyone to celebrate their favorite Christmas movies.
