Throwing Techniques to Add to Your ToolboxThis six-week class is for the potter who can readily center the clay and make a decent cylinder, bowl, or plate and now is ready for some additional throwing skills. We will begin with marbled clay and its possibilities in surface and form. In the weeks ahead we will explore facetting, adding coils to thrown pots, reshaping bottomless pots, using throwing sticks to produce thin & round pots, trimming wet, fitting lids to various forms, and maybe even try some local clay, with its unusual demands and rewards.Times: 9:30–12 noonDates: Saturdays, August 22, 29, (no class on September 5), September 12, 19, 26, October 3Instructor: Steve BriggsCost: $160 - Includes class instruction, open practice time (during Community Center hours and no other class scheduled), glazing, firing, and 25# clay.
