About Camp

This program is for homeschooling groups and families only.Join Tower Grove Park and the Missouri Department of Conservation for a hands-on, garden?based exploration of how pollination works and why it’s essential for the foods we love. During this interactive lesson, students will discover the parts of a flower and learn how pollen travels with the help of insects and other pollinators. Students will observe pollen up close, investigate which animals help move it, and learn how pollination leads to seeds, fruits, and ultimately the ingredients we eat every day.To bring these concepts to life, students will work together to make their own salsa, connecting each ingredient back to pollination. By the end of the experience, students will understand how plants reproduce, how pollinators support our food systems, and how seeds continue the cycle of growth. This engaging, movement?based program blends science, observation, and tasting to help students appreciate the important work of pollinators all around us.This program is for kindergarten through 5th grade. This program will start at 10 am and last approximately 2-3 hours depending on the group size.Meet your instructor at West End Picnic Site.Registration is required only for youth participants, chaperones and adult supervisors do not need to register.
