Curious about Mahjong? Join experienced players for an introduction to American Mahjong! No experience necessary. This is your chance to learn in a relaxed setting. Mentors will explain the basics of the game and the rules of the National Mahjong league and then get hands on experience by playing games with mentors; learning to build skill and strategy as you go. If desired, you may order your own playing card prior to class at www.nationalmahjonggleague.org (not required to participate). After learning the basics from these mentors, you'll be ready to join them during open play American Mahjong on Wednesdays from 9am until noon at the Williamson County Enrichment Center. Or find a location near you! Interest in this ancient game is surging and it is being played at other locations including the Fairview Recreation Center on Fridays from 2:00pm until 5:00pm. Registration is required for this introductory workshop but registration is not required for regularly scheduled open play. General admission fees apply and you will be asked to scan your WCPR pass/Silver Sneakers card or pay $2 per day.
