Registration for Group Swim Lessons: Group swim lesson registration is now based strictly on the participant’s age. At the first lesson, students’ skills will be evaluated by a veteran instructor and grouped according to abilities and comfort level. Students may not be "moved up" to an older age group. The ages are set to take into account the participant's age during the duration of the class. Below, you will find brief descriptions of some, but not all, of the skills that students will work on in each age group. Junior Lifeguard: (13-15) If you are interested in becoming a lifeguard in the future, these classes will expose you to a variety of guarding skills. Experiences may include assisting with swim lessons, lifeguard surveillance, special events, customer service skills, safety rules/regulations; and aquatic facility maintenance. Pool volunteer opportunities exist for Junior Lifeguards after the class ends, which are not mandatory, but are encouraged. July 2 - 12 (no class July 4) Junior Lifeguard10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Tu-Fr(13-15) Requirements: Ability to swim at least a 100 freestyle, a 100 breaststroke and 100 of either stroke. (Minimum 6 enrollment) Swim / Dive Lesson Class Notice Classes will be canceled the Saturday prior to the start of class if minimum enrollment is not met. • The pool manager reserves the right to add, change, combine, or omit classes as needed.• The pool manager reserves the right to place children in the appropriate swim lesson.• In the event lessons are canceled due to weather or other uncontrollable circumstance, classes cannot be made up or refunded.• Class schedules are subject to change.• Aquatic Centers have limited viewing areas for lessons. Seating for lesson viewing is available in the snack bar concession area and the bleachers. Refunds/Cancellations/Transfers Due to the large interest in group swim lessons and the limited availability, lessons cannot be rescheduled once booked. We are unable to reschedule missed classes. Please ensure that you are able to attend all lessons before registering. There will be NO REFUNDS as the registration is within our no cancellation window of 7 days prior to the start of class.
