2025 Gilpin County Fair Redneck Relay Competition$60/team Information1. Date/ Time: The competition will take place on Sunday, July 13, 2025 in the Gilpin County Fairgrounds Outdoor Arena. Pre-registration available online until 9:00 a.m. Sunday July 13. The Competition will begin at 10:00 a.m. 2. Age: Participants must be 14 years of age or older.3. Equipment: The Gilpin County Fair will provide all supplies for the competition.4. Liability: All participants are required to sign a liability waver on the day of the competition.5. Restrictions: Contestants must not be under the influence of alcohol before or during the competition. Contestants in violation of this policy will be immediately disqualified from the competition.6. Awards: First place team will each receive a championship t-shirt and each member will receive a prize.7. The Gilpin County Fair reserves the right to combine divisions or classes that, in its judgement, the entries are insufficient to secure adequate competition.8. Gilpin County Fair management does not discriminate based on race, color, sex, age, or other non-merit aspects.Practice and Competition Rules1. Sign-up: All persons who wish to practice or compete must sign-up and must meet the above criteria.2. Competition Overview: The competition will be a timed event and placings will be based off fastest to slowest time.3. Redneck Relay Equipmenta. Bales of hayShould be baled tightlyWeigh a minimum of 50lbs and maximum 75lbsb. PanelsWeigh a minimum of 75lbsEach panel should be 5’ x 8’c. SaddleWeigh a minimum of 25lbsd. Bags of GrainWeigh a minimum of 50lbsUnopened and secure for moving4. Redneck Relay Game Playa. Teams of four people shall play. Teams shall start at the starting line marked by cones in the arena. Each member will be required to go through the following courseCrawl under the panelsUp and over panelsMove a bag of grain to opposite side (*4 bags moved)Jump over a stack of hay piled 2 bales highRun the barrel pattern on a bouncy horseMove a bale of hay to the opposite side (*4 bales moved)Fill tank “A” with water from tank “B” with buckets to fill lineb. Time will stop with the last team member to cross the finish linec. Fastest time wins!5. Redneck Relay PenaltiesA five second penalty will be added when any of the following happens:A team member knocks over a bale of hayBreaks a bag of GrainOpens a bale of hay or pulls a string offA bag of grain or bale of hay falls off the palletDowns a barrelMakes a wrong turn in barrel pattern
